Matchbook Romance hit the studio and ready tour plans!

Thursday, September 8, 2005

MATCHBOOK ROMANCE are heading back into the studio to record their follow up album to Stories And Alibis. Entitled "Voices," the new album will be produced by John Goodmanson (Blood Brothers, Hot Hot Heat, Sleater-Kinney) at Long View Farm Studios in North Brookfield, MA and is scheduled for release on Valentine´s Day, 2006.

MATCHBOOK ROMANCE frontman Andrew Jordan describes the new album as, "a huge step out of the realm of our scene and our previous record, Stories and Alibis. While Stories was written with the message, "yield to love", I feel that Voices is somewhat a counterpart but also embarks on stories of betrayal, nightmares, ghosts, and of course a little love. Musically it completely surpasses Stories by a landslide. We have matured as musicians and have definitely fine tuned our style to hopefully contribute to the evolution of music, and not stall it like so many bands of today. The record also has a much darker vibe than our previous album. It constantly presents this feeling that your stuck in a dream world, and at the same time it also posses this feeling like your constantly being chased. I hope that our current fans as well as new fans will fall in love with this record."

MATCHBOOK ROMANCE (singer/guitarist Andrew Jordan, guitarist Ryan DePaolo, bassist Ryan Kienle and drummer Aaron Stern) began back in 1997. Their career so far has been a whirlwind romance that produced a contract, a masterful EP and highly successful full length debut, three consecutive summers on the Vans Warped Tour, an appearance on live national TV performing on the FUSE channel as well as the coveted cover spot of Alternative Press magazine.

MATCHBOOK ROMANCE will be in the studio through mid-October and then they will head back out on the road to give fans an early listen to the new material.
