POWERSPACE haben sich in ihrem Blog zum Ausstieg von Bassist Dan McMahon geäußert:

"Hey everybody,

Hope you are all doing well. As I'm sure some of you have heard Dan is no longer in Powerspace. There have been some personal and creative issues, and everyone agrees that Dan's decision is probably best for everyone.

Now, to clarify a few things:

-First of all, we dropped off the 1997 and White Tie Affair dates just to get our new touring bass player up to speed. We never like to cancel shows, but hopefully you'll forgive us this time around. We're planning on putting on an awesome show on our full US and Canada tour with CIWWAF, Ace Enders, and Danger Radio; so we'll be working out new songs and rehearsing and just getting pumped up in general to rock out with our buddies. So, no, we're not breaking up or anything like that. We're fine. You don't have to worry you don't have to worry you don't.

-Secondly, there are no hard feelings between Powerspace and Dan. Dan is one of all our oldest and best friends. Obviously we're bummed that he won't be touring with us and such, but we understand his decision. Sometimes you just gotta do what ya gotta do, ya know?

-On that note, one of the best things about Dan is you never know what he'll do next. He's always surprised everyone throughout the years playing in different bands, making all kinds of different music, and doing all sorts of creative things. I'm sure whatever Dan does next will be awesome. Dan may not be in the band anymore, but we're still friends and will continue to support each other like we always have. We're all excited for him.

That's all. Thanks to everyone for handling this respectfully. No need to pick sides here or anything like that. Besides this situation, we're all really really excited about this summer. If you've never been to a Powerspace show, now's the time. Tom finished his last semester of school so we have two guitar players (Max + Tom = Guitar Team Extravaganza) now, a fresh face on bass, and all of us have been buckling down at Tom's studio "The River" writing/recording some new songs you might get to hear on tour. You should hear some of the stuff Alec and Kevin are coming up with! We can't wait to play some of these songs live. It's an exciting time to be alive! Alec, Kevin, Max, and Tom are still madly in love with each other, and you! See you this summer!

Love,
Alec, Kevin, Max, and Tom
