WOVENHAND - Spendenaufruf für Keyboarder

25.09.2012

"I could patter on for hours about Jeff's Gibralteresque solidity, objectively handsome bone structure or formidable lower intestine, but these are a given. What many do not know, however, is that Jeff recently suffered a heart attack caused by the early onset of genetic heart disease. Despite besting the heart attack with the strength and fortitude of ten thousand steeds, he did not do so without incurring significant medical bills. Nor is he able to avoid the burden, financial and otherwise, imposed by the reality of requiring medication and regularly scheduled treatment for the rest of his life. Given that Jeff's particular skill set lends itself more to "kicking ass" than typical 9 to 5 pursuits, he is without insurance, and the mounting financial obligations are daunting.

For those of us lucky enough to call Jeff son, brother, friend or simply know him, we've benefited from his unmatched capacity for empathy and compassion. Whether taking the time to listen, acknowledging someone's seemingly ignored needs or being an awesome mentor and older brother, his ability to care for and care about others is evident and consistent. Equally evident is Jeff's reluctance to lean upon others, including those of us who regularly depend upon him, regardless of how unnerving or challenging the path before him. As Jeff's needs are primarily financial, we ask those who feel compelled and are in a position to give, to help with bills incurred and prospective medical expense. I think we can all agree, this guy is friggin worth it."
