This effort from the Huskers is a far cry from their latter day incarnation. Extremely fast and aggressive Hardcore Punk with Bob Mould screaming out lyrics like a madman. Unusually for a Husker Du album, some of the lyrics are political in nature, songs such as M.I.C. and In a free land. But there are some pockets of melody present in the likes of the title track and the aforementioned In a free land, which are an indication of things to come. Whilst this is a very noisy and therefore overlooked part of Husker Dus catalogue, it is nevertheless a crucial part of early 80s hardcore history.
