Prong - Primitive Origins

This was Prong’s first album released way back in 1987. The title says it all. Very ‘primitive’ yet effective thrash-core. No hint of the latter day Killing Joke influenced industrial band they would later become. This is simply 8 tracks and 19 minutes of extremely fast hardcore influenced speed metal. Not as good as scene leaders Agnostic Front or the Cro-mags, but still worthy. The production and the performances are equally very raw. Tommy Victor’s trademark roar not yet fully formed. Not for fans of Prove You Wrong onwards, but an interesting little release for people into the 80’s ‘crossover’ scene.
