Interview mit Nine

01.01.1998

At the last snapcase show in Munich I had the chance doing an interview with nine from
Sweden. Actually I thought that they have already recorded their new release and
I lost my concept paper for the interview so this one is a bit chaotic but anyway..
here we go....

Ploedi:

If you'd first introduce yourself?

Martin:
I'm Martin.

Tour:

Yes, I'm Tour I play the drums.

Ploedi:

How would you describe nine to somebody who never heard you?

Martin:

I hope there is no like clear definition of what is nine as it can be boring. But
Of course there are some influences of Entombed because I'm a big Entombed fan and
stuff like that. I guess it's Metal, Hardcore with some melodies. I hope we created something
different. I'm not that into the lyrics but I mean there is stuff like problems,
feelings. We don't preach, that's a very important thing with nine we don't like to
preach and tell people what to do.

Ploedi:

There was kind of a change between the two records you brought out. I heard you'll bring
out a new one so how is this gonna sound?

Martin:

Between "listen" and "Kissed by a..." happened a lot. The "Listen" album that's a
very like 100% Hardcore album almost. But Kissed is more like a Straight down Rock
and Roll thing. I don't think anyone in the band likes "Listen" because it's kinda
boring. "Kissed by a...." has got more structure while "Listen" was just like pieces
of riffs together. Sometimes it sounds good but.

Ploedi:

And the new recordings.....

Martin:

We haven't recorded anything yet. The only thing we've done is this Split CD with a
Spanish band called "Like Peter At Home" there is one brand new song and we'll play
it tonight and it's more straight, even more straight.

Ploedi:

I heard you are on Burning Heart now?

Martin:

We haven't signed anything yet. But probably yes.

Ploedi:

What about the future?

Martin:

Well actually touring is the best thing to do.

Ploedi:

Some final words?

Martin:

Thank you for supporting us. *Big Laughter from Simone and Ploedi* I hope you'll enjoy the show tonight.

Well this one was absolutely my fault....forgetting the paper and thinking they've already recorded a new CD...
Next time I see them this interview will be replaced by a bigger one......Actually they've played an
amazing show....
