Nach ihrem Album "Summerland" von 2018 kuendigen MAYDAY PARADE für den 16. Oktober eine neue EP namens "Out of Here" an, die via Rise Records erscheint. Anbei stellt die Emo/Indierockband um Derek Sanders, Brooks Betts, Alex Garcia, Jake Bundrick und Jeremy Lenzo mit "Lighten Up Kid" ein erster Hoereindruck mitsamt Videoclip bereit. Drummer Bundrick kommentiert:
"'Lighten Up Kid' is about trying to find yourself and the strength to keep fighting for what you believe in. It's about being or feeling cut down and hung out to dry but standing up for yourself in the end."
