"Hey everyone,
I'm very sorry to tell you this news. After the Istanbul concert last night, I slipped on a cobblestone and broke my kneecap. Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed, and very sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.
Unfortunately, there's no way around it. If it was only a broken bone, I would have toured in a bloody cast.
But the doctor says the knee must be immobile for several weeks after surgery, or it won't heal properly."
